Graduated from the College of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo – USP, in 1960. Ruy Ohtake considers architecture as a built work, because he believes that the architect’s responsibility begins with the project, construction, presence in the city space, and its use by users. Therefore, architecture is a perennial work, which will reveal its permanence, its importance over time.
Architecture must thrill, excite, surprise, and be attentive to technological innovations and contemporaneity. Shape, materials, and colors are the instruments of its architectural expression and design.
